Again, like the proportions of the sculpture, the departure from realism in the paint job is deliberate.
This sculpture is about 8.5" tall, 9" long and is mounted on a painted wood base.
This was painted in part with my Badger Anthem airbrush using acrylic based airbrush paints, and detailing was done with a brush and regular acrylic paints. After all the painting was done, this got a coat of matte varnish, and then some gloss varnish here and there for accent.
It's a little less yellow in person, but I like the warmish cast in these photos, so I went with it.
Next sculpture? Either a cartoony badger or bull terrier.
God, the colors blend so well, it all looks so natural! I vote for a cartoony badger next, the anatomy sounds fun ;D Goodness, the detail on that muzzle is to die for
Spiffriffic paint job there RG, specially on those spots he’s sportin’ there.
His overall tones are fitting for a hyena and wonderfully bright too. All the details are painted in excellent quality, particularly with the orange eyes which fits nicely with his brown and golden coat colors.
Very nice (BADGER) work as usual (DO A BADGER NEXT) RGYoung. Can’t wait (BADGER) to see your (BADGER, BADGER) next piece.
Looks totally awesome! My favorite part is his eyes. They're creepy, in a good way. Of course, the spots and the gradient of colors are really cool, too.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
